Want to join my book club?
I’ve decided to start a book club. We’re calling it “Meg’s-OMG-Book-Club”, mainly because the choices I gravitate towards are THRILLERS, edge of your seat, holy cow where did that twist come from, this TOTALLY needs to be made into a movie type books! 🌈I’ve seen lots of book clubs happening lately and I love that people are committing to using their brain a little more than vegging in front of the TV. Now don’t get me wrong, I am a Netflix, Amazon Prime QUEEN but lately I have been negligent in my book exploration.
I have always been an avid reader. I know it comes from all of my parents being teachers, instilling from before I was on this earth, how much fun reading can be. I tend to read quickly, and when I dive into an especially amazing book, I can finish in a couple days. As I mentioned above though, lately it’s been too much Riverdale, Dynasty and Jane the Virgin, and less time with my nose in a good book. SO. I have made a choice to make the next couple months filled with reading. 🌟
My latest picks
Yesterday I found 4 amazing new reads at Chapters/Indigo and many of you have said you want in, so here we are! Our club is NO pressure, NO dues and NO hassle. Just a gang reading thrillers then gabbing about who should be cast in the leads when they become movies!
Our May Selection is…
Our MAY pick is “Then She Was Gone” by #Lisajewell. I am already finding I can’t put it down, even Dustin at Chapters said he read it in one sitting! 💥HERE IS THE SYNOPSIS from Goodreads: “She was fifteen, her mother’s golden girl. She had her whole life ahead of her. And then, in the blink of an eye, Ellie was gone. NOW. It’s been ten years since Ellie disappeared, but Laurel has never given up hope of finding her daughter. And then one day a charming and charismatic stranger called Floyd walks into a café and sweeps Laurel off her feet. Before too long she’s staying the night at this house and being introduced to his nine year old daughter. Poppy is precocious and pretty – and meeting her completely takes Laurel’s breath away. Because Poppy is the spitting image of Ellie when she was that age. And now all those unanswered questions that have haunted Laurel come flooding back. What happened to Ellie? Where did she go? Who still has secrets to hide”?
If you’re interested in reading this with me, head to your local library, shop, or grab online and let’s read together! Then at the end of May, we can have a livestream + IG Stories recap/review! 📚
Enjoy! Meg xo
PS here is the haul I got yesterday, in case you see sales at the store! You see many of these were either $15 or 2 for $15, that’s when I stock up! Then when I am finished, I trade, giveaway, or keep the best on my fun bookshelf!
